Friday 18th October

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to share the highlights of our week in class! Nancarrow Farm Trip We had a wonderful trip to Nancarrow Farm! The children were brilliantly behaved and had an amazing time. They made and enjoyed fresh food from the farm, harvested a variety of vegetables, planted garlic, and even got to see and feed the pigs. It was also a joy to meet and play with our friends from Blisland Primary. The experience was not only educational but also a lot of fun!

Maths Update
In maths this week, our Reception class has been focusing on the numbers 1, 2, and 3. The children have been counting and manipulating objects to correspond with these numbers, which has been a great way to reinforce their understanding. Meanwhile, our Year 1 and 2 students have been exploring addition and subtraction. They are beginning to grasp these important concepts and the associated signs, showing great progress!

English Learning
In English, we have continued our exploration of recounts. This week, we learned about Neil Armstrong by asking questions, which sparked some fantastic discussions. On Friday, we had a special visit from a nurse, and the children wrote thoughtful questions to ask her. We will be writing up the responses next week, so stay tuned for more insights!

Art Creations
Our art sessions have been incredibly productive! We have finished our collages, adding specific details that truly bring them to life. The children have shown remarkable creativity, and we have some brilliant budding artists in our class. We look forward to sharing their artwork with you soon!

Upcoming Schedule
Changes Next week, there will be a swap in our teaching days: Mrs. Fernie will be in on Monday, while Mrs. Andrew will be in on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Due to this change, we will not have outdoor learning this Tuesday. Instead, please ensure that children come to school in their uniforms as usual, as we will have an afternoon of cooking planned!

Miss Hicks, has officially joined our class! The children have welcomed her warmly, and it has been wonderful to see them interact and engage with her. We are excited about the positive impact she will have on our learning environment. Miss Hicks brings a wealth of enthusiasm and experience, and we look forward to getting to know her better as she helps support the children in their learning journey. We are confident that her presence will enhance our classroom experience and provide additional support for all students. Thank you for your continued support, and please join us in welcoming Miss Hicks to our class!

We look forward to meeting you next week at our parent consultations.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes, Mrs Fernie, Mrs Andrew, Mrs Hicks, Miss Talbot.

Week ending Friday 11th October

What another great week we've had in Canute class.

We had two visitors this week, enhancing our understanding of our enquiry question, "Who helps us?"  We were joined by Jonty the guide dog and his owners who told us all about the job of a guide dog.  On Friday we ten had a visit from Jamie who is part of the coastguard team in Polruan.  He told us all bout how and why the coastguard began, explained about the training you need to do and about some of the rescues he has been a part of.  We got to explore the van and found out about the kit needed.

In English this week the reception children have been exploring the story of The Jolly Postman.  Year 1 and 2 have edited and produced some amazing biographies about Florence Nightingale and we have begun our next block of learning, all about writing recounts.  We started this week exploring the 5W's (who, what, when, where, why) and writing and answering questions.

In maths both Year 1 and 2 have started their new unit of learning, addition and subtraction.  We have been discovering and revising our number bonds to 10.  In reception the children have begun to look at the numbers 1, 2 and 3.

The children have been thoroughly enjoying their computing sessions with Mr T and have a great understanding of online safety.  They have been giving and sharing very responsible ideas.

Next week, Tuesday, we have our trip to Nancarrow Farm.  We will be discovering the produce we can harvest in autumn and finding out how the farmers help us.

If you have any questions or queries relating to school then please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

Mrs Andrew, Mrs Fernie and Miss Talbot

Workshop

Monday we had a visit from BIFFA to take part in their Planet Waste workshop. During the session we learnt how to develop good waste management behaviours including the 3Rs. It was a very informative hour finding out about every day materials and how these are recycled and turned into new products. As always, the children listened attentively and asked lots of brilliant questions to find out further information.

Harvest Festival
Mrs Phillips wrote a Harvest rap inspired by the enormous turnip to the theme tune from Fresh Prince of Belair. The children had lots of fun performing this so we have agreed that it should be our new Harvest Festival contribution which we will enhance by actions and costumes for next year – Thank You Mrs Phillips!

Coast Guard Visit
Friday afternoon Canute class had a visit from the Coast Guard during our PE lesson. Part of the visit included looking around the call out vehicle parked on the playground. Needless to say, this became something of a distraction to Tregeagle class and before long, they were found sneaking along the playground with knees bend to appear Canute-sized so they too could get the opportunity to in. Their ingenuity was rewarded with a space among the KS1 children and inclusion in the talk!

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs W

Personal Development

Personal development is both a subject and a school ethos and we want each child to leave our school feeling confident, unique and proud. Our aim is to teach children how to navigate through life safely, happily and healthily by raising aspirations, inspiring curiosity and promoting understanding and interest to develop sense of place and belonging. To provide this, we have designed a programme of activities/trips and visitors in addition to the classroom teaching and this half term we started by inviting Captain Paul Thomas, Fowey Harbour Master, to talk to the whole school about what has been happening on the water and the importance of the harbour for our local community. When we have visitors, we always take the opportunity to ask visitors about their educational journey to their chosen job so the children are exposed to the many routes and options available to them for future careers.

Canute class has invited a string of visitors this term to support their learning of people who help us and build on their learning from last year’s visit to the fire station. Our local PCSO came into school last week to talk about how to stay safe, they had a visit from the Guide Dog Association complete with guide dog and the Coast guard this week. Next week they have a visit planned from a nurse to talk to the children about her job.

Tregeagle class had a visit from BIFFA this week to find out about how to carry out shared responsibilities for protecting the environment in school and at home; how everyday choices can affect the environment (e.g. reducing, reusing, recycling; food choices). In the last week of half term, they will attend the Primary Futures event, ‘World of Work’ where the theme will be Aviation and the different careers involved. After half term, they will join Southwest Water for a workshop centered around sewage and plastic pollution to help educate about, care for and look after our local environment.

HARVEST FESTIVAL
Thank you to those of you who attended our Harvest Festival this morning and thank you for the donations to the foodbank. As always, we had a lovely time in the church sharing songs and poems reminding the children of this important event in the farming calendar.

PARENT CONSULTATIONS
In the final week before we break for the half term, we are holding Parent Consultations so please look out for the sign-up email from Mrs Hughes.

Achievement Assembly
Writer of the Week:
Ava for making good use of her lovely ideas to write an entertaining story using lots of our learning.
Kayden for writing his name independently.

Star of the Week:
Antonia for being brave and managing her worries – it was so lovely to see you enjoy the Harvest Festival.
Zeniah for showing courage and enthusiasm in reading our poem at the Harvest Festival.

Have a lovely weekend,
Jane Wills

Autumn 1

Maths
Routines are firmly now embedded and the children are confidently navigating and manipulating their prior knowledge and applying this to support new learning. We have completed the place value unit and are exploring addition and subtraction for Year 3, 4 and 5 while the Year 6 children are recapping addition, subtraction multiplication and division by exploring the conceptual ideas in depth to make sure their procedural knowledge is sound

Writing
We have come to the end of sentence stacking lessons and the children are now planning and writing their independent piece of writing. Our first piece this year is a narrative based on empathy and friendship. Once these are complete, we will publish their final works and share them with Canute class in our reading assembly.

History
We continue to explore how children’s lives have changed through the years and this week we have investigated the work of Lord Shaftesbury in introducing working rights bills to protect child workers in Victorian times. There is lots of new vocabulary to learn for this unit of work, so we are finding different ways to recap and retrieve learning to make sure concepts are embedded and lodged in the long-term memory.

PE
In rounders, we upped the skill level as the children had the chance to use the rounders bat for striking. It was great to watch how their technique improved across the session with much further strikes giving the fielders a good workout.

ART

This week, we have investigated how rubbings can create textures to make frottages. Inspired by Max Ernst, we used a variety of materials to create the textured rubbings which the children then used to create their frottage with great results.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs W

Election time

On Monday, we had a visit from Captain Paul Thomas, Fowey Harbour Master. He shared details of what life working as a harbour master entails, how you might became a harbour master and what characteristics you need to do well in the job. The children thoroughly the talk and they asked lots of fantastic questions, we were all very proud of their capacity for listening, understanding and curiosity.

This week we also had the School Council elections to replace 1 outgoing KS2 councilor and add a Year 2 councilor to the group. Many of the children had spent the weekend preparing their speeches and used a combination of persuasion and promises to prove their eligibility. In the end, the school voted for Ronnie, Ailla and Joyce who will join Tegan (chair), Antonia and Nathan to form the new school council. They will have their first meeting in a couple of weeks and the agenda is quickly filling up.

Our Year 6 children went to Fowey River Academy on Thursday for their first transition day. They returned bearing gifts and full of enthusiasm from a busy but exciting day. I think we will be hearing about this visit for weeks to come.

Rehearsals for Harvest Festival are in full swing supported by Mrs Butlin. We are now all humming along to “Big red combine harvester” and “Five a day”. Hope to see many of you at Saint Saviour’s next Friday 11th October at the new time of 11am for the occasion.

Achievement Assembly
Reader of the Week:
Joyce for always offering great contributions to our guided reading sessions that support her peers and help her own learning move on.
Mya for reading with confidence making super use of her phonics learning to progress her reading skills.

Star of the Week:
Ailla for being curious and asking the most brilliant questions during our visit by Captain Paul Thomas
Irina for being role model for our class, always showing great learning behaviours by asking questions of teachers and visitors to find out more.

Have a lovely weekend,
Jane Wills

Friday 27th September

Welcome to this week’s class blog, where we share all the wonderful things happening in Canute Class!

Biographies of Florence Nightingale
This week, our English lessons have been buzzing with excitement as the Year 1 and 2 students have been planning their biographies on the remarkable Florence Nightingale. The children are eager to dive into writing next week, and we can’t wait to see their creativity shine as they share what they’ve learned about this inspiring figure in history.

Maths Focus:
Place Value In maths, all the children have been working hard at their different levels, focusing on place value. It’s fantastic to see everyone engaged and making progress! The students are developing a strong understanding of numbers, which will serve as a solid foundation for their future learning.

Art Exploration:
In our art sessions, we have been exploring primary and secondary colours. The children have enjoyed mixing colours together and experimenting with different painting tools. Their artwork is turning out beautifully, showcasing their creativity and understanding of colour theory!

Outdoor Learning Update
Please note that next week, our outdoor learning session will take place on Monday instead of the usual Tuesday. We’re looking forward to some fun activities outside, so please ensure your child is prepared for the weather!

Phonics Session Recap Last week
We held a session on how to help teach phonics at home. Thank you to all the parents who attended! For those who couldn’t make it, or if you have any questions about phonics, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to support you and your child’s learning journey.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our class activities.

We are excited about the learning adventures ahead and can’t wait to share more updates with you next week!

Positive beginnings

It has been a positive start to the year, with lots of fantastic learning experiences across the school. The classrooms, books and digital learning records are already bulging with the children’s work and it is great to see how enthusiastically they are embracing the learning. This week, I have been particularly impressed with their curiosity and ability to ask questions, such a valuable skill to have.

We have received notice of the Wild Wellbeing sessions the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), along with Natural England, are running over the October half term. These are nature-based, creative, practical workshops where children will be learning about the Five Ways to Wellbeing: Give, Connect, Take Notice, Be Active and Keep Learning outdoors in nature. These sessions are open to all primary school aged children (5-11), each session will be approximately 2 hours long. Sign up can be with the link here https://forms.office.com/e/ZDVNVVwfdPe or follow the details in the letter sent via email this morning.

On Monday we welcome Fowey Harbour Master, Paul Thomas, for an assembly talking about the work of the harbour. This promises to be an interesting morning and I know the children wil have some great questions lined up. Monday afternoon, we have the school council elections. We are looking to recruit 2 members: one from Year 2 and another from Tregeagle class. The presentations and voting will take place during assembly so you might find yourself being asked to support your child with their speech over the weekend!

Achievement Assembly

Mathematician of the week:
Toby for always having a go at every single maths questions – trying to think of a way to solve problems using the maths he already knows – brilliant mathematical thinking. Leia for working independently using SeeSaw.

Star of the week
Erin for her curiosity, listening and questioning on our trip to Wheal Martyn.
Emmie for always being ready and settling in to learning when she arrives at school.

Have a lovely weekend,
Jane Wills

We had a brilliant trip to Wheal Martyn on Tuesday to find out more about working lives during the Victorian times. The children have a SeeSaw lesson uploaded with photos and a summary of our learning from the day so head over to your child’s account to find out more.
In Science, Mrs Phillips continues the journey of Light, with the older children studying reflective materials and properties alongside refraction. The younger children are exploring how light travels in straight lines and cast shadows. The sunshine has been useful for some of the experiments, however for the most we have been using torches for a more reliable light source.
Next week, Thursday 3rd October, the Year 6 children are visiting Fowey River Academy for their transition day. The children need to be in school by 8:40 with a coat as they are crossing on the ferry.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs W

We have now settled into the routines of school and the children are enjoying their new learning journeys. In Canute class, they are finding our about people who help us and they will be focusing their history lessons on finding out about Florence Nightingale, why she is a historically important person and the legacy she left behind. In Tregeagle class, their journey is looking at how children's lives have changed through history, starting in the Roman times and travelling through the Tudor and Victorian eras to investigate continuity and change in education, work and leisure. They have already discovered, much to their horror, that children as young as 7 went to work and we can see the beginnings of real appreciation for the work done to protect and develop children’s rights so their own lives are much improved.

We look forward to seeing Canute parents on Monday afternoon at 2:45pm for our Early Reading session with Mrs Fernie, where she will explain how we teach phonics, the essential building blocks for successful access to reading, spelling and writing.

Achievement Assembly

Writer of the week
Tegan for a fantastically ambitious start to the year accepting the challenge to reach greater depths within the standard.
Indi for applying her phonics learning to sound out so she can work independently in writing lessons.

Star of the week
Ava for always engaging with every single learning activity with positivity and determination to succeed.
Ronnie for being a super role model for learning and behaviour expectations in Canute.

Have a lovely weekend,
Jane Wills

PE
The sunshine and weaker winds have been a welcome change this week making our lessons less challenging. In our 2 PE lessons, we are focusing on striking and fielding – rounders – and net/wall games – basketball. For rounders, we have started the journey with refreshers for striking the ball, pairing up to bowl and strike using their iPads to film each other to analyse their techniques and reflect on improvements and progress. On Friday, we had our first full game on the school field and it was great to see how the teams supported each other with tips and techniques and game plans modelling competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

HISTORY
We continue to investigate and interrogate historical sources to find out more about children’s lives. With a specific focus on continuity and change, the children are now looking at working lives of children in the Tudor era. They are making good use of reading skills to make inferences and deductions in their interrogating of primary and secondary sources leading to some fantastic observations and questions. On Friday we discussed what childhood might be like if Tudor era working conditions still existed in our modern world.

WHEAL MARTYN
Tuesday we are at Wheal Martyn to supplement our classroom learning. We leave school at 9am and will return for the end of the day. Children need a packed lunch (unless you have requested a school packed lunch, must wear school uniform and suitable shoes for walking, bring a coat, snack and enough water for the day.

Have a lovely weekend, Mrs W

Welcome back

It has been fantastic having the school full of children, happy voices and smiley faces again. It was lovely to great every one of them at the gate on Wednesday morning, all looking smart in their uniform. The children have settled in well and we are incredibly proud of how well our very youngest children have been made to feel welcome by their peers.
PE and CLUB
We will continue with the arrangement of children coming into school wearing their PE kit on days they have PE so we can maximise time spent in lessons. For Autumn 1, Tregeagle class will have PE on Monday and Friday and Canute class have PE on Thursday and Outdoor Learning on Tuesday (you should have received the information regarding this). If you have signed your child up to attend Sports Club on Thursdays, please send them in with their PE kit in a bag ready to change into at the end of the day.
SEESAW
We have set all the children up with their new logins for SeeSaw and you should be able to continue logging in and following your child’s learning. If you experience any problems with this, please contact your child’s teacher.
PARENT SESSIONS
Thank you to those who were able to attend our Meet the Teacher event on Wednesday to find out about your child’s learning, teacher expectations and strategies to support your child at home with their learning. For Canute parents, we have an additional session on Monday 23rd September at 2:45pm with Mrs Fernie where she will explain how we teach phonics, the essential building blocks for successful access to reading, spelling and writing.

Achievement Assembly

Welcome back

The first week of the year is always a special time to be the teacher. The children arrive full of energy, smiles and laughter and you are struck by their capacity for empathy – going out of their way to welcome and include the new children in our class.

We have lots of exciting learning planned for this half term. In history we are looking at how children’s lives have changed through times. We will work as historians, interrogating historical sources to find out about children’s education, work and leisure time and make comparisons with current times. In addition, we have a trip planned to Wheal Martyn, to learn about Victorian children’s working lives.

All the children have a reading book and record and I am encouraging the children to take their books home daily so they can read at home in addition to reading at school. If you are able to, please set aside 10 minutes to hear your child read and talk about what they have read. Reading for pleasure is an important part of your child’s development and we set aside time in our weekly timetable for the children to get comfortable and immerse themselves in their book. The reading for pleasure is in addition to the daily guided reading sessions, where the children work with an adult to develop their reading skills; clarifying, summarising, predicting and questioning.

PE is Monday and Friday, please send your child to school wearing their kit on these days to maximise time spent in lessons.

We continue to use SeeSaw to record learning so you can follow their progress from home. I have uploaded the weekly time table and this half term’s learning map so you can follow what the children are learning and when.

As always, if you have questions, you can catch me in the morning on the gate or if you need a little more time to talk, make arrangements to come into school at the end of the day.

Have a lovely weekend, it looks like the sun might shine! .
Mrs W

Welcome back

We have had such a lovely few days back in school this week.  We were met with smiles and laughter on Wednesday morning and this continued all week.  The children have been superstars and have settled straight back into it.

Next week we will be back to having outdoor learning on Tuesdays so don't forget your wellies and Thursday is PE, come in wearing your kit.

Our enquiry question for this term is 'Who helps us?' - we have discussed what know already and what we would like to find out.  The children are very keen to find out more about becoming a part of the emergency services, how animals can help us, what equipment certain jobs need to be able to do their jobs and about the transport they use.  In history we will be learning about the lives of Florence Nightingale and Grace Darling and how equipment and transport has changed over time.

We have started our maths learning and our Reception children are learning to match, sort and compare objects.  Year 1 and Year 2 are focusing on Place Value, recognising the value of digits in numerals, reading and writing numbers in words and comparing numbers.

In English Year 1 and Year 2 are going to be writing a biography and are currently looking at what these contain and how they are structured, learning information about some fantastic people along the way.

Next week we will start our new phonics sessions and the children will be coming home with their reading packs.

Don't forget to send in any 'Wow' moments your child would like to share with us to add to our board.

We look forward to seeing you at the meet the teacher afternoon on Wednesday at 2:45 and if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Last week

It has been another good year for our little school. We continue to maintain the 2-class structure with nursery provision, offering extra-curricular after school clubs and a wide variety of trips and visitors to support the curriculum learning. This year, we have again benefitted from the generosity of our local community with funding for water sports, swimming lessons and a fantastic theatre trip to watch Aladdin.

Inside the building, we have had our internet connection updated with connectivity for the Rainbow Room and improved connection in Tolbenny class so we can use all spaces for teaching. We have invested in new books across the school, so our reading materials reflect up-to-date experiences, authors and interests, helped by funding from the English Hub. We have also created a wish list on Amazon for more high-quality books for both classrooms and if you wish to make a donation, the QR code is below here or you can find it on our Reading Super Hero Scarecrow on the gate.

On Friday, we said goodbye to our Year 6 in the Leaver’s Assembly. These occasions are often sad and emotional; however, they are primarily a time for joy and celebration as we reflect on the journey of our pupils while at Polruan school. Our Year 6 has made us laugh aloud with quirky observations of life in the classroom, inspired our thinking and learning but most of all they have made us proud! They have been an outstanding role model for our younger pupils, demonstrating our core values of respect, resilience, tolerance, understanding and responsibility. They have made fantastic academic progress and achieved well above national average in all their SATs and they have shown ambition, determination and a want to succeed and for that they deserve recognition. They are a credit to themselves, their families and our school and I am certain they will continue to flourish and thrive at secondary school.

In September, the children return to school on WEDNESDAY 4th as we have a teacher INSET day on Tuesday 3rd September. We will continue with our current arrangements of all children entering the school via the top gates which will be opened at 8:40. The children will have the opportunity to play with friends until the bell at 8:45am. Class teachers will then escort the children to their classrooms, ready for the start of the day.

It has been another adventurous year for us all with lots of enjoyable learning experiences to share and reflect on over the summer. We are pleased with the close ties between parents and school and thank you all for the strong support you have provided across the year and we look forward to continuing working closely with the very special community Polruan is. We have lots of exciting plans for the next academic year which we will share on our return in September.

I hope you can all enjoy a well-earned break this summer in our lovely corner of Cornwall. On behalf of all the staff, thank you for your continued support.

With the warmest wishes,
Jane Wills

Well how are we already at the end of our last full week of the summer term?

A busy week had by all in Canute this week.

The children were lucky enough to have a second ARENA day on Monday, exploring ways of keeping fit and healthy.

Tuesday saw the children completing some end of term assessments which will feed into our work in the next school year and also working collaboratively to assemble the Polruan Academy entry for the village scarecrow competition, it's looking great!

On Wednesday we completed our history work, thinking about how exploration has changed between the voyages of Christopher Columbus and the achievements of Dame Ellen Macarthur.  The children created their own coat of arms to celebrate the achievements of their favourite explorer.

On Thursday we had our final music session with Mrs Butlin where we worked collaboratively with Tregeagle to sing songs and play music games.

Friday saw a class of pirates with some very unusual names complete pirate workouts, treasure making, gold stealing and route mapping.  We shared the story of 'The Treasure of Pirate Frank' and children in Years 1 and 2 used the Bee-bot to plan, test, review and adapt the best route to get through the different obstacles to the treasure.

Next week brings the academic year to an end and we will be saying a sad farewell to Miss Taylor, wishing her all the luck in the world in her next adventure.

Monday is our Readymoney beach day with Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
Tuesday will be the last day with early pick up at 1:30.

Have the most amazing summer break and hopefully the sun will appear for a few more days!

This week has been a great week in Canute Class.

The children enjoyed a great P.E. day with the ARENA team and were all very tired on Thursday morning, showing how they gave all of their energy to the day!

In English this week the Year 1 and 2 children spent the start of the week editing their aquarium recounts and have been putting their handwriting practice into action by creating some 'final' copies of their recounts, including their edits to share with Tregeagle next week.
In Drawing Cub Reception have been sharing the story of Captain Pugwash.  They have been using fantastic phonic skills to write some great words and sentences.  They've used their imaginations to think about what the dragon might've wanted to eat next and the friends he might meet on Dragon Island so that he doesn't feel lonely anymore.

In Maths, Reception have been learning about sharing and grouping, Year 1 have been consolidating their learning on time by reading analogue clocks and making o'clock and half past times on their own clocks.  Year 2 have completed their work on statistics and are now learning about position and direction.

In Art, the class used natural objects for weaving and have produced some lovely patterns.

In History we have continued to look at explorers from the past, we have created a timeline to show the events of Christopher Columbus' expedition to The Americas and dug deeper into Matthew Henson's expedition to the North Pole.

We had a super music session with Mrs Butlin, working with Tregeagle.

On Monday the school are very lucky to be having a second P.E. day with ARENA.

On Friday we have our Pirate Day, dig out your best costumes and practice your pirate vocabulary!

Summer 2

Despite the almost hectic feel to the week, the children have enjoyed the energy and excitement this brought.

Monday
We had a brilliant Forest School session using tools to make wooden beads. The children listened carefully and every one followed the rules and instructions for safe handling of tools. There was a real positive energy and and sense of industriousness with the peeling of bark, sawing the wood and hollowing out the elder beads.
This was our penultimate session and the children have come so far in their understanding of how to keep safe by following the rules and the enjoyment this brings as trust develops. I cannot wait to hear their final self-assessments following our last session next Thursday.

Tuesday
The classroom was a hive of DT activity with the children adding the stage of materials to their river projects. You can begin to see the landscape they are creating and their understanding of river features. You can follow their journey on SeeSaw and you will be able to see their final piece on Tuesday.

Wednesday
We had a visit from ARENA running a whole school Olympic Day. As always the children were fantastic, embracing the sports with enthusiasm and energy.

Thursday
The morning was spent coding Micro Bits with our visitor from Cornwall Tech. The children used their prior learning well to learn new sills and knowledge in coding. We will re-visit these in the Autumn term to give the children the chance to embed the new learning.

Friday
Year 6 and a few friends went to Camel Creek for their end of year day out and Mrs Chasey had the rest of the class back at school. All the children had a god day, whether this was sprinting around the adventure trying out all the rides getting soaked on the water flume and eating ice cream or back at school using DT skills and knowledge of levers and pulleys to create an underwater diorama with moving features.

Have a lovely weekend - enjoy the football!
